Since 1981, the Geological Survey manages seismic network
composed by seven stations (all of them on its territory)
and by three new stations in the nearby Province of Bolzano.
The stations, together with those from Switzerland, Austria
and Friuli, guarantee a good coverage of the Alps.
Details on the Provincial Seismic Network

Due to the historical evolution of the network and to the
fast technological progress of the last years, data of seismic
events are collected in three different databases:
-
Historical database (from 238 a.d. to 1984)
Data from historical
and archival researches
-
Instrumental Archive (from
1984 to 1993)
Data from the Analogical Network (1982-1990), managed in
collaboration with l'Osservatorio Geofisico Sperimentale
di Trieste (O.G.S.), and from the first digital network
(1991 – 1993)
-
Digital-instrumental Archive
(since 1994)
Data from the Digital Network, managed only by the Geological
Survey
The three above mentioned archives have been joined in one
database, now interactively consultable on the web!
